Help Bree Go To College
Donation protected
In the picture attached, you can see me opening my acceptance letter from my university. My name is Bree Martinborough. I have always been a dreamer. Whether it be about going to DisneyWorld for my 5th birthday or going to the university of my dreams. Presently, I am pursuing the latter. I am a 16 year old Bahamian student planning to study Mathematics at Rollins College. It is not just my passion that burns me to push so hard in my education but it is also my deep desire to change the face and stereotype of women in STEM. Science has always intrigued me even if of mere simplicity. However, some people assume based off of my extracurricular endeavours that I could never be successful in STEM and nothing drives me more than doubt. Due to the devastating Hurricane Dorian and the recent COVID-19 pandemic, my mother has been out of work and unable to assist me financially. Fortunately, at my high school I was awarded a scholarship and was able to use that as a monetary crutch, however, we all know that high school tuition is a joke in comparison to university. I am solely depending on my father to fund my college tuition and frankly, it is just not enough. I have won a number of scholarships and grants, however, my annual tuition is still quite high. I have never been one to beg or even ask for much, but I am asking of you today to please help in any way you can. Donating and sharing is much appreciated! Thank you!
