Help Break a World Record with Conga4Diversity
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Rocky and I am a high school student from Greenwich, CT. On July 6th, 2024, I will be leading an attempt to break the world record for the "most nationalities in a conga line" while also raising money for 2 local nonprofit organizations: the Norwalk International Cultural Exchange and Creative Connections.
These two diversity and inclusion nonprofits both aim to highlight the diversity of our community and our understanding of other cultures. NICE regularly hosts events and programs across Fairfield County to educate and celebrate other cultures. Creative Connections links US schools with partner schools all across the globe in classroom art and cultural exchanges.
These funds will be used to promote our event, drawing event participation and garnering donations; develop and produce merchandise, including T-shirts, stickers, and hats for Conga4Diversity; cover costs for volunteers and staff members; and cover any miscellaneous costs, including insurance, logistics, and certification fees.
In addition to raising funds, we hope this event will be a celebration of diversity and bring awareness to these key causes. Through this event, we strive to shed light on the global necessity for embracing and understanding cultural differences, while also confronting the barriers to inclusion that persist in many communities. By rallying together for this cause, we not only showcase the beauty of our diverse backgrounds but also advocate for a more inclusive society where every individual is valued and understood.
What we will be doing:
The current record stands at 50 different nationalities. Our goal is to unite enough conga-line dancers from different countries to surpass 50.
