<div>I want to start by thanking every single person who has supported me so far. Whether you donated shared my story, reached out with kind words or given me rides to the hospital etc,  it has meant more than I can ever express.

<div>Your support lowers so much anxiety and allows me to focus on getting through treatment one day at a time. I am so grateful for each of you.

<div>I also want to give an update on the next stage of my treatment. When my external radiation and chemo are finished I will be admitted to the hospital for something called interstitial brachytherapy. This part of the treatment is very intense. I will be placed under anesthesia for the insertion of the applicators and then I will remain in the hospital for three days receiving internal radiation. During that time I will not be allowed to move on my own. Nurses will have to reposition me and I will not be able to get up to use the bathroom. I will not be sedated during the days of radiation or for the painful removal at the end. The entire process is physically and emotionally overwhelming but necessary for the best chance at recovery.

<div>Because of the timing this means I will be spending Christmas in the hospital away from my family unable to celebrate and unable to feel well enough to even try. We will have to acknowledge Christmas on a different day once I am home and feeling stronger. Gifts are not a focus this year because money has been so tight but being together will matter the most.

<div>I will also be in the chemo chair on my birthday this December which is a day I would love to simply forget.
</div>

<div>As always I am asking for continued grace and support. If anyone is willing or able to donate it would mean the world to me and it would ease some of the financial pressure while I go through this extremely difficult stage. Please know that no one is ever expected to give. Your love kindness and encouragement carry me more than you know.

<div>I never imagined I’d be writing something like this. Asking for help does not come naturally to me, I’ve always been proud to work hard, help support my family, and contribute to my community. My husband and I have built our lives on self reliance, but over the past two years, life has tested us in ways we could never have prepared for.
</div>

<div>Two years ago, my husband underwent major back surgery, a double spinal fusion. With no benefits or job security, he was unable to work for a full year. We survived that time by tightening our belts, taking on extra hours, and finding any way we could to stay afloat. Just as we began to slowly climb out of that financial hole, life delivered another blow, one that’s even harder to face and brought us to our knees.

<div>on July 18, I was diagnosed with mesonephric adenocarcinoma, an extremely rare and aggressive form of cervical cancer. The urgency is real, the doctors moved quickly and my radical hysterectomy was on August 12 in Toronto.
</div>

</div>
<div>I am now off work, unable to take on my usual overtime shifts that help keep our bills paid. The truth is, we were already just making ends meet. Now, we are faced with the terrifying possibility of falling behind again on our mortgage, bills, and the additional costs of my treatment and recovery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As I move forward in my journey, I’ve learned that because of the rare type of cancer I have, my chemotherapy and radiation will be in in London. This means I will need to live there for the duration of treatment, which will likely be upwards of two months.
</div>
<div>This will be one of the hardest parts, being away from my family, while they are away from me. My husband cannot take time off to be with me, as we are already so financially strained. Normally, we would never ask for help, but in this moment we are reaching out to our community for kindness and support to help us get through this.
</div>
<div>Your generosity will help ease the burden of living expenses while I undergo treatment, and it means more than words can ever say.

<div>I also have an 18 year old son who depends on me. My deepest wish is to focus on healing, not lying awake at night wondering how to keep the lights on or pay for gas to get to the hospital.

<div>If you know me, you know this is not something I do lightly. Until this year, I had never asked for financial help in my life. But the truth is, the storms of the last two years have been relentless, and right now, I need to set aside my pride for the sake of my health and my family.
