<div>Hi everyone,
</div>
<div>This is not the update that we hoped to be able to give at this point, but it is the current status nonetheless. 
</div>
<div>After recent scans last week, it was discovered that at some point between the halfway scan that showed great response to the chemo and now, the chemo has failed and the cancer has stopped responding to it. Brandon's cancer is now growing rapidly. 
</div>
<div>The treatment plan to do an autologous stem cell transplant (using his own healthy cells)  is now off the table as he is no longer a candidate because of the cancer's return. The doctors explained that the only option for a cure at this point is an allogenic stem cell transplant, which will use donor stem cells instead of Brandon's own cells. This is much more in depth and thus carries much more risk. Brandon will be starting a new chemo regimen to try to reduce the amount of cancer cells in his body while Fred Hutch starts the process to find a donor match. His brothers will be tested to see if they are a possible match, and then if not, they will be turning to the worldwide donor network to try to find a match for Brandon.

<div>Once a match is found, Brandon will go to Fred Hutch to begin the transplant. It is expected that he will be living at Fred Hutch, splitting time between their housing and the hospital for approximately 4 months. 
</div>
<div>Because of the requirement to be local on the Fred Hutch campus and the nature of the transplant itself, Brandon will be out of work for the duration of that time. He and his family will still need the support of friends, family, and the community during this incredibly difficult time. Any donations, prayers, and well wishes are greatly appreciated.

<div>I am reaching out to our community far and wide to help a family very near and dear to us.
</div>
<div>I will get right to the point and be as transparent as I can…our friend Brandon was recently and unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer, T-follicular helper cell lymphoma. This news was a huge shock and impossible to prepare for.
</div>
<div>Brandon, his wife Nikki, and their 6-year-old son Cameron are such a sweet and amazing family. They spend so much of their time inviting others into their circle and spending quality time with their loved ones fishing, BBQing, playing outdoors, and going on beach adventures. As you can imagine, this next phase of their life will look a bit different, but that will not stop Brandon and his family from investing in others and just continuing to be the amazing and welcoming people that they are.

<div>After weeks of tests and scans to confirm his diagnosis, Brandon had the surgery this week to install the port for his chemo treatment and will begin treatment at the end of this month. His treatment will last for approximately 4 ½ months. At the conclusion of successful treatment, he will have a stem cell transplant. Due to the nature of Brandon’s industry, he will be unable to work during his treatment and as many of you know, this puts a financial strain on their family.

<div>It is unknown at this time when Brandon will be able to return to work and his family needs help with their revolving bills each month, which includes rent, utilities, groceries, etc. Brandon’s income was responsible for covering over half of their monthly expenses.
</div>
<div>While Brandon, Nikki, and Cameron are usually the ones helping others……. the medical bills are already pouring in, income has stopped, stress and fear are unimaginable, and it is OUR TURN to help them get through this unexpected and rough time.
</div>
