Brady’s Recovery Fund

Donation protected
A few short days ago everyone was living a normal happy care free life, and then the unimaginable happens. The story you hear of something so sad and horrible happening to someone else’s family has all of a sudden happened to yours, and everything starts spiraling so fast that you still can’t even believe it’s actually happening. Unfortunately for Cassie, this is now her reality. This is now Brady’s reality. As many of you may or may not know, Brady was taken to the doctors on Thursday because he was having some partial drooping on the right side of his face, and had also been experiencing off and on for the last couple months some vomiting and headaches. Brady’s speech also had begun to slur a little. Alone- all these things seemed to be easily explained. But together they added up to be something no one saw coming. The doctors sent Brady to the hospital for a CT where they saw there was something on Brady’s brain that looked like a tumor. But to determine exactly what it was, Brady then underwent a two hour mri where he had to be completely under anesthesia, so they could get a better look at his brain and spinal cord. That’s when the doctors discovered that Brady had a brain tumor located in the right posterior fossa that was pushing against his brain stem which was causing the facial paralysis and all of the other things that Brady had been experiencing.  It was obvious at that point that surgery needed to happen as soon as possible. Between multiple tests and long nights, surgery was finally scheduled for Monday morning. Brady underwent what was close to 6 and a half hour brain surgery where the doctors removed most of, if not all, of the tumor. They won’t be able to know for sure until they can do an MRI in a few days to see. Brady has a very long road of recovery ahead of him.  Which means staying in the hospital until he is stable enough to leave and not be under constant monitoring by doctors and nurses. This also means that Cassie will need to be with him non stop, and unable to be in her office working. While Brady may be able to leave the hospital soon, he still won’t be able to return to school for at least a month, if not longer. Many of you have reached out multiple times in hopes of finding some sort of way you can help and it has not gone unnoticed. Some have even asked if there was a go fund me account set up. The kind words and countless prayers have truly been appreciated. The goal with this account is simply to help lessen the burdens of all the things that she absolutely should not be worrying about right now. The cost of surgery alone is enough to put any person who is ahead financially behind, as well as the insurance deductible and copays and every medical procedure Brady has to endure while staying in the hospital, but to add on the stress of still having to maintain your other bills while not working, and living out of a hospital is something I just don’t want her to even think about right now. Cassie’s main focus is and should be taking care of Brady. So again, thank you so much to everyone who has reached out and everyone who has stopped by and called and just sent their thoughts our way. We ALL can not thank you enough. Brady is truly blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing people who love and care for him. Those who would like to stay updated please just continue to send Leslie or myself a message and we will fill you in on any changes. It’s best if we let Cassie spend as much time as she can when not focused on keeping Brady calm and Taken care of, taking care of herself by sleeping and eating- not answering everyone’s calls and messages. Thank you again so so so much everyone.
