My son Brady is my world—he’s my buddy, my hero, and my adventure partner. He’s a history nerd just like me, and right now his big goal is to visit all 70 historic homes in the Virginia 250 passport. Brady’s passion for the Revolutionary War and American history is inspiring, and I love seeing his excitement as we explore together. Most of all, my favorite thing about Brady is his heart for the Lord and his love for his family and friends.

 Brady has congenital heart disease and in 2019, he had his pulmonary heart valve replaced. While that valve is doing well, his tricuspid valve has worn out over the years from working extra hard. Now, Brady needs a series of tests at the Children’s Hospital, which is six hours from our home, to figure out the best way to treat his heart and decide if and when surgery is needed. He also has other health conditions, so we’re being referred to see additional specialists at the same hospital. The travel, time away from home, and uncertainty are tough on our family, but we’re determined to do everything we can for Brady.

 We’re asking for help to cover the costs of gas, food, occasional lodging, and medical expenses—including big tests like MRIs, stress tests, and possibly catheter heart procedures—as we travel for Brady’s appointments and possible surgery.
