Help Rare & Groovy Dude Beat Even Rarer Cancer!

Bradley Bohanan, loving brother and loyal friend, was diagnosed with a very rare skin cancer (Merkel cell carcinoma) last fall.  After undergoing two grueling surgeries to remove his tumor and install a large skin graft in January,  and enduring  everything like the champ that he is, Bradley faces a lengthy regimen of radiation (5 days per week for up to 8 weeks) potentially followed by several weeks of an immune therapy trial. His prognosis is excellent, but there is still much to endure before he's declared fully cured. As a self-employed painter, Bradley currently needs support meeting his medical expenses above & beyond what insurance covers, plus rent and other costs of living during the upcoming weeks/months of his treatment. We want to do all we can to relieve him of as many of these stressors as possible, to give him the best chance for a full recovery.

Bradley's situation is urgent: his course of radiation begins in mid-February and could last up to 8 weeks. Then, if he's approved, the immune therapy trial begins, lasting another 6-8 weeks or more. He's already working very limited hours, and may need to stop working altogether very soon. Bradley will need funds to cover his rent, groceries, and other costs of living  during these weeks/months, including an unexpected and major repair on his truck, so he can reliably get to his many medical appointments throughout each week.

After just a few short weeks of treatment, Bradley has already shown the same incredible grit and gratitude for life as his amazing mother (Patsy Ruth Pemberton Bohanan), who fought more than one kind of cancer while she raised Bradley and his sister Merribeth. A big reason Bradley wants to go through the immune therapy trial is to honor his mother and her remarkable journey. He's also deeply grateful for the care he's already received from a whole team of surgeons, specialists, and nurses here in Denver, and is determined to give back to the medical community so that he can help others battle this rare cancer, too.

Anyone who knows Bradley knows what a wonderful person he is. He'd give anyone his seat on a train, his last dollar, or the shirt on his back. When he meets you, his care expands to everyone in your extended circle: your parents, kids, spouses and partners, etc., and he never fails to ask after them all. He's kind and sensitive, genius-smart in tons of subjects, super funny,  and is well-versed in music, Warner Brothers cartoons, and seemingly every movie ever made. Best of all, he is a supremely gentle soul and a generous human being. He has always been a giver, showing up frequently with a cute little gift or card just because "it made me think of you." Bradley is quick to offer a hug, to listen when you're sad,  and to tell you he loves you. His cancer diagnosis offers everyone the opportunity to return some of the love and care he practices daily. Let's give Bradley the support he needs to make it through this next phase of his healing.

We: his sister Merribeth and his friends Paula & Janine, are leading this campaign, so BB can keep his energy focused on getting well. Your generous financial gift will go a long way towards helping Bradley do what matters most: get enough rest, eating well, and stay his strongest--physically and mentally--so he can beat this rare skin cancer. **Please share this campaign far and wide!**Above: After second surgery, and doing great.
