Help Brad reclaim his life & support our family

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I'm reaching out today with a heavy heart and a humble request for your help.

My husband, Brad, recently received a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment from his neurologist. After piecing together all the information from his doctors, it has become clear that he needs long-term inpatient treatment to address multiple diagnoses and ensure his overall wellness. This decision was not easy for our family, but it is necessary.

Without this step, I fear we will lose not only our home but also possibly him. The constant chaos in his mind and the turmoil it causes in our family life have become unbearable. He has put me, our children, and everyone else through so much pain. He wants to become the man God intended him to be and the father our children need in their lives. He needs to do this.

Brad will be undergoing treatment at Red Hill in Delhi, LA, located between Vicksburg and Monroe. Depending on the results of his neurological tests and the progress he makes with various therapies, he will be away for 1-3 months.

During this time, a small group of trusted and godly men in our lives are mobilizing resources to support us by ensuring our family is taken care of while he is away. However, we need additional support to make this possible.

Brad's treatment plan includes neurological testing and procedures guided by his neurologist to better understand his cognitive impairment.

He will undergo intensive interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and family counseling with me. His medication plan aims to remove unnecessary medications and minimize reliance on others. He will also receive physical and occupational therapy to improve cognitive functioning.

Brad is diagnosed with several conditions: - Bipolar Disorder - Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) - Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) - Mild Cognitive Impairment - Anxiety Disorder - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) - Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD)

These trauma-based disorders, along with the genetic component of bipolar disorder, have been incredibly challenging for him. He has spent the last two years researching and working with his doctors to understand and address these issues.

While I am not detailing every aspect of his trauma here, please know we are open to any questions and have numerous resources and support groups we’ve been a part of for years.
