Help Bose beat Cancer
Donation protected
Hello, our names are Oyewole and Abiola Salako
We are raising funds for our sister, who has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of Uterine Sarcoma (cancer of the womb), also called Leiomyosarcoma, with metastases (spread) to the liver.
Leiomyosarcoma is a very rare cancer of the womb that affects just one in 100,000 people per year. It all started with heavy periods in the last 6 months consequently leading to repeated hospital admissions on 4 different occasions for blood transfusions due to significant symptoms from anemia.
She initially received care at a private hospital facility in Lagos, Nigeria. Ultrasound performed 6 months ago report showed multiple fibroids and it was thought that her heavy periods were due to the fibroids.
Her care was subsequently transferred to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where a CT scan was done and it showed a possible leiomyosarcoma with liver metastases a few weeks ago. She was referred to Lagos University Teaching Hospital 3weeks ago, has had a biopsy which confirmed the diagnosis of Uterine Sarcoma.
She is now under the care of the Gynaecology-Oncology team at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). Her treatment is going to involve extensive surgery within the next couple of weeks, followed by months of chemotherapy.
Bose is 43yrs old, practically a single mum with 2 young children under the age of 5 and she has had to defer her new employment because of ill health. Cancer treatment in Nigeria is quite expensive, especially for someone with no employment income or husband support.
She is so dear to us and we want her to have the best chance to fight and beat this cancer!
Please help our sister fight this battle as she cannot do it alone.
Every proceeds from this fund will be solely for Bose's medical treatment and medications.
No help is too little.
Many thanks
