Help Bobby & Shari

Donation protected
Dear friends,

I am feeling sad and helpless today.  My cousin Shari is losing her husband of over 30 years, Bobby Munroe, to a horrible long term illness.  Bobby has chosen to not have any more treatments and is now on Hospice care.   He is in his last days of life....

Bobby and Shari had a beautiful life...Bobby was General Manager of Watson Sand & Gravel and Shari kept the Munroe family home in Madbury and together they ran the business and raised two great kids.  Bobby began to have unexplained health issues in the prime of his life, which affected his heart and slowly their world began to spiral downward.  Bob couldn’t work, the business had to fold, and he and Shari lost not only Bob’s income but also their family home -the home that once belonged to Bob’s parents...the home he grew up in.  Picking up the pieces as best as they could, they moved to Rochester and now rent Shari’s family home.  For the past 10 years, Shari has worked and taken care of Bobby.  As his illness progressed, she could not maintain her full time job.  Bob has had numerous hospitalizations in the last several months.  And, because of this Shari had to ask her employer for a part time work schedule so she could be home with Bob until his caregivers could arrive. Her boss reduced her to only 8 hours a week, forcing her hand to quit her job.  Other than Bobby’s monthly disability income, there has been no regular income for them - unemployment has denied Shari’s three appeals for compensation- even with letters from doctors stating Bob’s serious health issues.

Today is March 8, 2018, and Bob has been hospitalized and bed-ridden for almost two weeks; he will no longer come home.   He is declining fast, and tearfully Shari is trying to stay strong and focus on his remaining time left.  It could be days or hours.  Truly heartbreaking .

I cannot imagine how hard it has been to have no regular income, fight for unemployment compensation and be denied, and then watch my husband slowly die before my eyes.  There is no life insurance, and no guarantee of work Shari right now.  Please, I humbly share this heartbreaking situation with you all to somehow try to help.  If you can possibly contribute to this fund, no amount is too big or too small, and this will be used to help finance rent, food and funeral expenses when the time comes.  I pray for peace in their days ahead, and I thank you from my heart for anything you can do.
