Help Bobbie "Bloom" through her Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
Hello everyone! This campaign has been set up to help my little sister Bobbie Chavez Kalenderian as she navigates her final few months on dialysis and prepares for a kidney transplant at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix Arizona. I have put together this Go Fund Me to raise one year’s worth of financial support for Bobbie as she undergoes dialysis, waits for a kidney match, gets her long awaited transplant and to help her through her recovery, post-transplant. My sister has been so incredibly brave through this journey, fighting with every ounce of strength that she has. She is an inspiration and an example of grace and gratitude even in the darkest most painful days of her life. There have been many hospital stays over the years for all the issues that have come along with her Kidney problems: pneumonia, blood transfusions, heart issues, high blood pressure, Covid etc. She has had to stop working due to extreme exhaustion from dialysis three days a week. It has been a nightmare to say the least, but she still shines and brings so much joy to our lives. If you know her heart, you know how sweet and generous she truly is.
On December 13th Bobbie received a phone call from Mayo Clinic letting her know that her testing and evaluation was complete, the transplant committee voted and she was approved for kidney transplant. As of December 28th she is officially listed on the United Network of Organ Sharing and was told to pack her bags because the surgery would most likely take place within 1-2 months (February/March 2024) Hallelujah! Unfortunately, being this ill for so many years has been very expensive, and there are no savings left to pull from during this very crucial transplant period. Insurance deductibles are thousands of dollars every year, copays, doctor visits, testing, anti-rejection medications, travel expenses, and housing in Phoenix for 4-6 weeks after surgery.
Although this sounds pretty overwhelming, she is happier and more hopeful than ever. This is a second chance at life and the miracle that we have been praying for. She has the best doctors in the country and the best family and friends on earth. We really appreciate your help and look forward to seeing your beautiful faces after her transplant and hopefully through her recovery.
And now a quick note from the recipient herself:
The past seven "SICK YEARS" have been a journey of Discovery, Challenge, and Faith. We all have battles to fight and crosses to bear, but we are so blessed every day. Find beauty in everything. Love even the people who hurt you. Forgive and help those in need. Thank you to my sister Tiffany who has been my rock. And thank you to every single one of you that cares about me. My friends and family have lifted my spirit in so many ways and I will never forget how you got me through this. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For your generosity and your love. Let’s do this!
Love always,
Bobbie
If it’s not too much to ask, please share this campaign with your friends and family. It takes an army and every bit helps.
