Help Bob, Helen and Carmela recover from Hurricane Helene

Bob, a retired small-town police chief, his wife Helen, a small family restaurant owner and daughter Carmela lost everything in Hurricane Helene. A few years ago they packed up their lives, sold their home in New Hampshire and moved to the west coast of Florida to live out their dream of being on the water and enjoying their boat.

Carmela is currently an honor's student at the University of Alabama. With the added expense of the out-of-state tuition, Bob and Helen took on full time jobs in Hudson, Florida, a beautiful little seaside town. Bob works at the DMV testing and helping teenagers get their first license. Helen is a manager at a First Watch restaurant.

They purchased insurance on their modest 3 bedroom, 2 bath home on the water but were soon dropped by one of the companies that pulled out of Florida. Before they could secure a new policy, Hurricane Helene hit. And we’ve all seen the damage that it caused.

Bob and Helen lost everything. Their entire house needs to be gutted, many of their personal possessions ruined, and they have to start from scratch. Bob will rebuild and repair most of the damage himself - they recently completed a transformative renovation and will need to do so again now. Donations received here will be used directly for their relief efforts such as materials needed to restore their house, addressing flood damage, refurbishing with necessary appliances and furniture, buying clothes and other personal possessions, etc.

Bob, Helen and Carmela are our family. Bob is my Uncle, my dad's brother, and we have started this fundraiser for them. Anything you can contribute to help them will be so greatly appreciated. Thank you.
