Help Bob Bounce Back!!!

Hi. My name is Robin and I want to tell you all a story to of the greatest Parents/Grandparents/Great-Grandparent there are. My parents- Robert and Margie Tonecha. They have been happily married for over 53 years. They have two daughters, my sister Kim and I. They also have 5 grand-children- Joey, Jason, Crystal, Ashley and Sheldon. In addition, there are 4 (soon to be 5) Great Grandchildren-  Hayden, Austin, Chloe, Natalie …. And Cali (Feb 2018).

My parents have worked harder than anyone I know. My dad Bob has always been everyone’s hero. He is a carpenter- a jack of all trades. He’s been a fighter all his life, never taking sick days… doing everything to get the job done. They are both too proud to ask for help. So I am. Here is the problem:

My Dad, Bob, was diagnosed with rectal Cancer in 2012. He has been thru multiple surgeries, chemo, and radiation. He NEVER complains, and keeps fighting everyday with all he has. The last 5 years have been a roller coaster. Everyone in our family depends on him for strength. Watching him fight this sickness is the hardest thing we’ve ever had to do, knowing what a mountain of a man he has always been.

Just last week he tested positive for the Philadelphia Chromosome (which causes the white blood cells to turn cancerous) and subsequently, was diagnosed with CML (Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia). He went into the hospital Dec. 8, 2017 with his white count over 131,000. (it should be 9-10,000). Over the past week Dr’s have been able to get the count down with medication. However, the next step is chemo… after that, the goal will be to try to get the leukemia into remission. As you can see, my family has one heck of a road to go down, and it’s a dark one. This is where I step in. He has doctor bills, medicine and supplies spanning the last 5 years that we are still trying to stay on top of. It’s been hard as heck to make a dent in them and now we are looking at another MONSTEROUS expense to get him through this or to make him as comfortable as we can. My Mom still works at 72… did you get that? She’s 72~ just had a stroke last week and is losing her mind trying to be there for all of us, to be there for my dad, and to keep the lights on at home. We all try so hard to help in every way we can, but it’s just not enough to cover all the medical expenses, the household expenses.. and we won’t even mention the fact that it’s Christmas, their favorite holiday…. A  day they have always looked forward to. They both LOVE family and spending time together. I am coming to you all for help. ANYTHING you can give will be greatly appreciated. . if you can’t help financially, please send up prayers for my Dad and for my Mom and forward this if it speaks to your heart. Thank you, so much.. for taking the time to read this. It’s so hard to do. God Bless.
