In 2017, a beacon of hope opened its doors in Wellington, Freetown, Sierra Leone: Blessing School Wellington branch was born out the school project that I started in 2009, determined to provide local children with access to quality education. What began as a humble initiative quickly grew, driven by the belief that every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and thrive.

The Journey So Far

Since opening its doors in Wellington in 2017, the school has operated without a permanent home. Over 100 pupils and their teachers have been displaced repeatedly, shuffling between cramped temporary shelters, borrowed spaces, and makeshift classrooms. Every move disrupts education, strains resources, and robs children of the stability they deserve.

A Turning Point—and a Race Against Time

This year, we took a monumental step: we secured land leased by an Anglican Church in Wellington and began constructing our first permanent building. The foundation is already laid—a symbol of hope for pupils and families. But now, financial hurdles threaten to stall progress. We have until July 2025 to complete the project before losing our current temporary space. Without a new building, these children could lose their school entirely.
