My name is Vicki Nuttall. I am a very close friend of Chris Blanchfield “Blanch”. A little bit about him-
Blanch was born and raised in Oak Hill, Wilmington, DE. He is a 47 year old man who has been working in the glass industry for over 20 years. He plays guitar, loves music, his cats and Star Wars. Blanch is a simple man with a big heart. Here is his story:
Blanch starting losing weight and feeling very tired about 1 year ago. He did visit doctors hoping for an answer to his complaints. In February 2018, Blanch was diagnosed with anemia and was told to take iron supplements and come back in 3 months.
A bunch of friends were at my house in April and everyone noticed Blanch's extreme weight loss and urged him to seek a second opinion. He went back to the doctor asking more questions about his weight loss, tiredness and anemia. Some of our friends in the medical field asked him to consider testing for certain types of cancer. The doctor listened and finally dug deeper – Blanch was diagnosed with a lung nodule and ultimately stage 4 kidney cancer. He started immunotherapy on May 11, 2018.
I am reaching out to everyone with this “GoFundMe” page hoping to ease the financial stress Blanch is going through with everyday expenses and medical expenses on top. In order to regain health and fight the cancer Blanch needs to focus on his health and not on the piling up bills…
It took quite a bit of convincing him to allow me to write this and share his story… He is a humble, hardworking man. We all need help sometimes.
