Help Black Thai get Life Saving Surgery!

UPDATE: Our oh so special Black Thai went to her loving forever home! A happy ending  to a rough start in life.  With your generous donations she was able to be have her hernia fixed along with her spay surgery.  She will always be a small dainty kitty but has a heart full of love to give her new family.  We at BHS and especially her foster mom, Rowana, who loved this sweet girl so much, really appreciated the loving donations from so many people that made her surgery possible.  Thanks to all of you who made this happen and have made her life so much better!

The Bedford Humane Society has a very urgent need for a lovely cat in our foster care named Black Thai. You may have seen this beautiful girl on Facebook. She was a very young cat turned outside by her previous owners with another cat. Fortunately, a kind neighbor took them inside and contacted us to find them good homes. We did adopt out her sister, Lady Grey, but found out that Thai was already pregnant. This was in the middle of January, and Thai had seven adorable kittens shortly after coming into foster. All the kittens have found their perfect forever homes, so now it’s Thai’s turn! Unfortunately, when we took her in to be spayed, we found that a hernia she has is a much more serious surgery than just a spay and will need a veterinary specialist. She has a thoracic hernia that involves her heart and/or lungs and will need very specific care. This surgery may cost as much as $5,000.00, which is such a huge cost to a non-profit rescue. However, this girl is still so young and active, with the best disposition you could ever want in a cat and was a terrific mother. We really hope many cat lovers out there would be willing to donate to Black Thai’s medical expenses. We all here at BHS really love this special girl and want her to have a long and healthy life! We are a no-kill rescue. If the animal can live a pain-free life by having the medical procedure done, then this is what our rescue does, as long as funds are available. Would you help us?
