This is my friend Bina Ward and she is in the fight of her life right now. She is a follower of Christ and is relying on her faith and trust in God to show up in a magnificent way. Ephesians 3:20-21 says, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to HIS power that is at work within us." She was recently diagnosed with a rare stage 3 Colon Cancer at the tender, young age of 39 and must complete six months of chemotherapy. Bina was living her best life as a loving wife, mother of two girls, and a lunch room manager at Jane Addams High School; where she is loved by her staff and students who she cares for and has treated as her own for the last eighteen years. Summer vacation had just begun, and she planned on enjoying it to the fullest with her family barbecue's, vacations, time with her husband, children, and brother who has down syndrome, whom she has cared for since the recent passing of her grandmother; when all of a sudden all hell broke loose! It was fourth of July weekend when she ended up in the emergency room! A CAT Scan revealed she had a large mass on her colon and intussusception. She underwent emergency surgery to remove the mass and to also remove her appendix and part of her colon, only to be told the devastating news that it was cancer. She has a long road to recovery. She has to take chemotherapy bi-weekly for the next six months. As a result of the chemotherapy, it has caused neuropathy, which is excruciatingly painful and causes a tingling and numbness in her hands and feet. She can't eat, drink or touch anything cold or even grab things out of her own refrigerator or freezer. She needs your help! Medical bills and day to day living expenses are mounting as a result of her not being able to work right now. By supporting my friend, your money will go towards co-pays, medicine, a care taker to help drive her to and from Chemo, and to help prepare meals amongst other things. We are asking that you find it in your heart to help Bina, who we all know and love and has cared for so many herself.
