Hi, I am Susan Williams. I am raising money for my daughter’s family. Her and her husband Billy have a two year-old daughter and a 20 year old autistic son. A few months ago my son-in-law had a regular blood test to check the levels of his diabetes. In results of the blood test they found his iron was very low, and his platelets were very high. His family doctor then referred him to a specialist. The specialist ordered many tests including iron medication and iron infusions…. Causing many days of lost work and time away from his family. He also included an upper G.I. and a colonoscopy. The results of these tests showed the upper G.I. Billy had gastritis and bleeding on the lining of his stomach. The doctor was hopeful that he found the cause of his iron being low and the platelets being high. He then followed up with a colonoscopy… to his shock he found the real cause of the problem. My son-in-law Billy has colon cancer. We were very shocked and upset with the results, however the doctor assured us with his experience and his team he can go in and try to take care of the problem with surgery to hopefully save his life. However, the doctor informed us that Billy will be in the hospital for a week or more, and months of recovery at home, assuming there is no more cancer and no more required surgeries or treatment… resulting in lack of income being the only breadwinner in the household. His wife is a stay at home mom to take care of their two-year-old daughter and their 20-year-old autistic son who needs one on one care. Also, there are many co-pays that will come along with no income that insurance will not cover. Any and all help would be appreciated at this difficult time. Thank you so much!
