Help Billy Rebuild After Camper Fire

When life becomes unstable and chaos consumes, and the bad things happen, 3 numbers brings help in your time of need. EMS - fire, ambulance, police and our trusted dispatchers all work together to be there and do their absolute best to make your bad day better.

But what happens when that same bad day happens to one of them? They are not good at accepting help let alone asking for it. So here I am, reaching out on behalf of one of our own. Billy Sanford. I have watched him grow in EMS. From the curious high school student to the amazing Paramedic he has become. And sadly it has come with a price. A price that is beyond one persons ability to recover from alone.

I wanted to let you know about something that happened to Billy recently. After moving back to NY this past June, he was planning on living a simple life in his camper until his next adventure took off, which he and his dad had been working on together over the past few months.

Last night 8/24/2024, a fire broke out in the camper while Billy wasn't there. Thankfully, family members noticed it quickly and managed to put it out. However, there was significant smoke damage, and a lot of Billy's belongings were affected. The camper was nearly complete as a project, so this is quite a setback.

This camper was to serve as Billy’s place of peace. A place to call home. A place to call his. He has lost items and memories that can never be replaced, a lot of which can not even be saved. So I am here asking for help for my friend. A friend whom I have seen, witnessed and experienced be there for others at a drop of a hat, help in every way he could, he’s been a listener, a shoulder to cry on, a person to laugh with and much more to so many. I am privileged and blessed to call him friend/family.
