My father, Billy Garrett, was hit by a car while driving on his motorcycle. WE NEED YOUR HELP URGENTLY! His jaw had to be completely wired shut on both sides. He had a broken nose, separated shoulders, a collapsed lung, multiple broken ribs, a shattered pelvis, and both femurs were broken in multiple places and numerus other life threatening injuries. His emergency aid has run out and he has been sent home. As of now, he is completely disabled. He needs special food, disability alterations to his home and has continued medical expenses. THIS IS A MAN THAT HAS WORKED TWO JOBS FOR 10 years. I am reaching out to friends and family for love and support. In whatever way you can give, either monetarily or emotionally, we need it! We know the power prayer has, so we ask that you please keep us in your daily prayers.
September 3, 2017: I made a phone call I will never forget. It was strange, that afternoon, I couldn’t reach anyone. I had attempted multiple times with no response. This was odd because even if I call my dad and he cannot answer the phone, he always replies with “Baby I’m at work, what’s up?” However, on September 3rd I got no reply. I kept calling his phone, until what felt like my worst nightmare happened. A nurse from the hospital answered the phone. My heart sank and my body knew something was really wrong. The worst part was not knowing the severity of his condition, because I am not his biological daughter, I couldn’t get any details.
He was in the hospital for 12 hours alone before any of us knew where he was. We had assumed he was working one of his two jobs. How very wrong we were.
We soon found out that my father had been in a terrible motorcycle accident, hit by what we believe was a drunk driver. He was given CPR by a woman that witnessed the accident (we cannot thank her enough for her acts of selfless, LIFE-SAVING service.)
It is a miracle he is alive today. His jaw had to be completely wired shut on both sides. He had a broken nose, separated shoulders, a collapsed lung, multiple broken ribs, a shattered pelvis, and both femurs were broken in multiple places.
BY THE GRACE OF GOD, my father has no brain damage. After a month of surgeries he is able to talk faintly through the wires in his jaw and also move his fingers and toes. HE STILL CANNOT WALK and still has multiple broken ribs. The medical professionals think it will take him about a year to walk because of the titanium plate he needed in his pelvis for reconstruction and some of the bones in his knees and legs that were crushed to pieces. While all of this is still very horrific and excruciatingly painful, both emotionally for us and physically for him, we are all very thankful that he is still alive and with us today.

My father has worked two jobs for 10 years and just two years ago purchased a home so that our family could have a safe place to reside, a safe place to be together, and a safe place to celebrate holidays as a family. It shatters our hearts seeing something like this happen to such a wonderful father, provider, and good-hearted man. It is a situation that is completely out of his control, but we see him finding the good in it and coming out even stronger than before.
We know and trust GOD has a plan for my father and for our entire family.
We will keep our joy and he still has his smile.
