Hi, my name is Joanne - but more importantly, my cat's name is Biggie. Over the last few weeks, we have been noticing that Biggie's breath was very bad. He also started drooling and was pawing at his face. Today, a new symptom appeared with Biggie avoiding his food, which is very unlike him (hence his name lol). So, I brought him to his veterinarian, and they discovered that he has advanced periodontal disease. I was very saddened to hear this and felt it was my fault in some way. However, the veterinarian assured me that it occurs with two-thirds of all cats. Deciding to move forward with medication to get rid of the infection and swollen gums, Biggie was placed on antibiotics, prednisone, and pain medication. He will be seen again in 2 weeks to see how he is responding to the medicine and to schedule the removal of all his teeth. Biggie has been in our lives for 8 years. He is our heart and soul. Within the last 5 years, he has had a series of misfortunes. He went through a perineal urethrostomy (PU) surgery that removed his urinary blockage and lowered his chances for recurrence. This and a couple of other visits to the emergency vet and routine vet visits led to his medical bills exceeding 10k. Biggie's procedure will cost another 3500.00 as well as today's visit costing 850.00, and unfortunately, this procedure is not covered by his pet insurance.

So today, I'm asking for your help with covering my little man's veterinary bills in hopes of keeping him with us for a long and healthy life.

Biggie is a very special feline who brings so much joy to our lives. He has been right beside us through major life events and has loved us unconditionally throughout. I truly cannot bear the thought of losing him.
