The Tulsa Farmers' Market is seeking support for local farmer Austin Blenden of Big Grass Beef after he suffered a big loss over the weekend. Austin woke up Monday morning to find his new and fully stocked trailer gone. It had been stolen overnight from outside his home in Newkirk, OK. Unfortunately, Austin has run into issues with recovering it as well as insurance covering the loss. The trailer is a huge loss financially, but the cost of the product inside is downright devastating. Austin had just stocked it with two full beeves ready for market, a value worth tens of thousands of dollars. Despite this setback and challenge, Austin remains positive, but if you know Austin you aren't surprised at his reaction! Austin is a kindhearted, hardworking individual who works day in and day out to produce clean, ethically raised food for our community and beyond. Big Grass Beef has served Tulsa Farmers' Market, Broken Arrow Farmers Market, and Scissortail Park Farmers Market. As of now, he has nothing to bring to those markets, but in true Austin form, he isn't letting that stop him! He is determined to get back to work! After learning all this, we wanted to create a way for our customers, and our community, to support Austin through this hardship. We ask that you consider a one-time donation to help him out! Your contribution would serve as a vote of confidence and as a gesture of appreciation for the great work he does!
