Karl and I are an old school Austin couple who are trying to Keep Austin Austin - comfortable, laid back and quirky - maybe weird. That's what we did with Snack Bar on South Congress (R.I.P. www.snackbaraustin.com ) and that's what we want to do with Bobo's Snack Bar. Our mission has always been to cultivate community and camaraderie by providing a truly hospitable environment and serving accessible, ethical foods.
Unlike the all-day café that was Snack Bar, Bobo's is going to be an actual bar that serves snacks. Seeing that the bar is literally 400 steps around the corner from our house, we want the vibe to be an extension of our living room - comfortable, laid back and quirky. Our plan is to serve all Texas everything - local craft beer, hill country wine & spirits, and snacks from Austin chefs. Everything will be as local as possible, as affordable as possible, and as eco-friendly as possible.
So why the fundraiser? What’s the hold-up?
We've had a bunch of hold-ups, including major health issues, run-ins with the City of Austin, contractor problems, etc. Now we're short on funds to buy all of the necessary equipment and supplies. We're not looking for hand-outs. We want to pay you back with food and drinks - that's spreading BE CUPID love.
In addition to the food & drink tokens, receive these bonuses at the following contribution levels . . .
$100 : Exclusive Bobo's Benefactor Swag (T-shirt or Tote Bag), not available for purchase, and your name listed on our website and social media pages.
$250 : An original art print from one of the Slugfest Printmaking members made especially for this fundraiser (10 different artists!) plus the above!
$500 : A cocktail named after you on our menu and your name emblazoned somewhere prominent in the bar for everyone to see, plus the above! Whoop!
Bobo's Token Terms:
Tokens will be redeemable 6 months after our opening date & do not expire.
Only one token redeemable per person per day.
Not valid during happy hour.
Lost or stolen tokens are not replaceable.
Tokens have no monetary value.
