Help Beth Say TaTa to Breast Cancer

Donation protected
You know you have reached adulthood when your birthday gift to yourself is a mammogram. Well, on June 30, 2017, my best friend Beth Tullos turned 43 AND went for a mammogram.  One week later at 8:21 AM she sent me this text..."I have breast cancer."
Anyone who knows Beth knows how wonderful she is...with a "glass half full" attitude and a quirky sense of humor and style...she's a rarity; and as it turns out, so is her type of cancer. Beth has mucinous breast carcinoma.  This is a rare type of invasive breast cancer that accounts for only about 2% of all breast cancers and is usually found in women in their 60s or older.
Beth requires a bilateral mastectomy with surgical reconstruction, which will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Her surgical oncologist will not know whether or not the cancer has moved into her lymph nodes until they do a sentinel lymph node biopsy during the mastectomy; so her treatment plan regarding chemotherapy, radiation, etc. is "up in the air" at this moment. We do know that her cancer is estrogen receptor positive and progesterone receptor positive but Her2 negative.
Of course all of this devastating and life-changing news is hard enough to handle without the extra burden of being told by your insurance company that they will only cover 50% of this life-saving surgery, and that's not even discussing chemotherapy, etc.  So Beth will owe $50,000 or more, out of pocket, to rid her body of an EXTREMELY RARE cancer at the young age of 43 (and she pays over $300 a month for this insurance). So I am asking for friends, friends of friends, family, kind strangers, those who are sympathetic and empathetic to the plight of those bravely battling cancer to please donate to Beth's cause.  It is very humbling to ask for money and depend on the help of others, but I know there is a cause...a very worthy cause. Her name is Beth. She is my best friend. She has breast cancer. And she could use your help.
