Hello! My name is Avari and I'm here on behalf of my best friend Beth Downey. Beth is an incredible person with endless energy and love for life and has personally inspired countless people to live every minute to the fullest. She's unfailing welcoming and supportive to the anyone she meets, whether they be stranger or friend. She is commonly referred to as Captain Beth because of her amazing ability to swoop in and save the day and now she needs our help.
On August 3rd, 2018 Beth had a seizure while hosting a BBQ to recognize her team at work. After being rushed to the hospital and put through an MRI, her doctors discovered a 4cm mass in her left frontal lobe. A biopsy was performed and it was determined that Beth has a grade 2 astrocytoma, a primary brain cancer that originates in the brain and couldn't be prevented or avoided.
As of right now Beth's treatment includes surgery to remove the mass, followed by chemotherapy, radiation or both. At this time the best case scenario would put Beth back to work sometime early next year. Until then she'll need financial assistance to pay for medical bills, care for her two perfect fur babies and living expenses.
Given the suddenness of Beth's illness and the expense of living in her dream city of Portland, OR her need for help is immediate. I have set the goal at $15,000 so we can get her some financial relief as soon as possible but the reality is the expense will probably be much greater.
Now is the time to show up for someone who has given so much to others. Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will help her focus on her recovery.
