Hello friends,
I'm writing you here to give you an update on your investment in my trip to Howard University. Last summer, you all came together to raise over $23k to give me the opportunity to attend Howard University. Long story short? I killed it. My report card screen shot is attached. I ended the year with a 3.5 GPA, getting a 3.77 my Spring semester. I also worked part time, and though it took me a little while, I found my place on Howard's campus. This is a feeling that I don't want to let go. I love Howard University!
One may wonder, "Why is Berneisha setting up a GoFundMe, again?" Although I reached the requirements to be considered on the dean's list, I was , unfortunately, granted no scholarship from Howard University.
We need to raise $20-$25k this summer. I'm frankly conflicted if this is even possible to do (fundraise each year) for three more years, but I already have a commitment of $5k towards this goal, and returning to Howard would be great. I am also waiting to hear from some additional external scholarship applications. How do you, the community, feel about raising $18k with me?
If the money isn't raised, I have plans to continue my studies at the University Louisiana Lafayette.
