Help Berenice with her medical fund

Berenice Rivera ha sido siempre una niña sonriente, creativa, dedicada a sus estudios y aficionada al tenis de mesa. Hasta a principios de sus 12 años se mantuvo saludable, padeciendo ocasionalmente de lo que podemos llamar enfermedades comunes de temporada.
El 19 de marzo de 2017 su sonrisa comezó a opacarse, a causa de lo que aparentaba ser una simple infección estomacal que le provocaba un fuerte dolor en la boca del estómago. Luego de algunos exámenes de laboratorio se determinó que no era eso, sino algo más.

Se hizo necesaria la participación de un pediatra gastroenterólogo quien ordenó un análisis endoscópico y tomográfico. Se encontró un retorno viliar y daños en las paredes del estómago pero sin poderse determinar su origen.

De ese momento a la fecha han sido necesarios un sin número de laboratorios en sangre, resonancias magnéticas, ultrasonidos, pruebas de rayos X y se han involucrado en su caso, pediatras, neurólogos, psicólogos, internistas, gastroenterólogos y radiólogos, sin tener todavía un diagnóstico definivo.

Valores de laboratorio alterados y el fuerte dolor permanente, le hace difícil el momento de sus comidas y le ha imposibilitado continuar con sus actividades cotidianas, deportivas y especialmente de estudio.

Después de varios meses de viajes constantes a la ciudad capital de Guatemala, visitas a doctores especialistas, diversidad de estudios y laboratorios, más los elevados costos de la medicina que actualmente necesita, han llevado a sus padres al borde de su capacidad para superar esta difícil prueba, pese a la ayuda de familiares y amigos.
Serán necesarias más pruebas diagnósticas, algunas de ellas no se realizan en Guatemala por lo que deberán enviarse al extrajero. 
Ayúdanos a que Berenice vuelva a sonreir como lo hacía antes. Esta difícil condición ha venido deteriorandole anímica y físicamente.  
Ella quiere vivir y continuar con sus sueños.

Berenice Rivera has always been a smiling, creative girl, dedicated to her studies and fond of table tennis. Until the beginning of his 12 years she remained healthy, occasionally suffering from what we may call common seasonal illnesses.
On March 19, 2017 her smile began to fade, because of what appeared to be a simple stomach infection that caused her a sharp pain in the pit of his stomach. After some laboratory tests it was determined that it was not that, but something more.

The participation of a pediatric gastroenterologist who ordered an endoscopic and tomographic analysis was necessary. A villar return and damage to the walls of the stomach were found but the origin could not be determined.

From that moment to date, a number of blood tests, magnetic resonance, ultrasound and X-ray tests have been necessary, and pediatricians, neurologists, psychologists, internists, gastroenterologists and radiologists have been involved in the case, without having a definitive diagnosis

Altered laboratory values and a strong permanent pain make difficult the moment of her meals and has made it impossible to continue with her daily activities, sports and especially study.

After several months of constant travel to the capital city of Guatemala, visits to specialist doctors, diversity of studies and laboratories, plus the high costs of the medicine she currently needs, have led her parents to the brink of their ability to overcome this difficult situation, despite the help of family and friends.
More diagnostic tests will be necessary, some of them are not performed in Guatemala and should be sent abroad. 

Help us to make Berenice smile again as she did before. This difficult condition has been deteriorating spiritually and physically.
