My 10-year-old son, Benjamin, got a new bike for Christmas. His grandparents pooled the money to pay for it. Ben's brand new bike (and helmet) was stolen on 12/27 from outside his friend's house in Brookside, Avery Ranch, at about 1:30/2 PM on 12/27.

I would not normally do this, but the outpouring of support for Ben from our community (family, friends, local and nationwide) has been inspiring, with numerous people asking if we had a GoFundMe set up to replace his bike. As a parent, I will say, that there are few things more upsetting than to see the disappointment in your child when an ugly thing like a brazen theft leaves him feeling so disenchanted. Any funds received in excess of what’s needed to replace the bicycle, his helmet, a new banana bell and a really good lock, will be donated to CancerCare, a non profit that provides support services and care to cancer patients. We are so grateful for your kindness.
