Help Benafim Dog Shelter stay open

There is a first time for everything. This is a first for Benafim Dogs - home to up to 35 dogs at any one time.
We humbly ask for your help to help keep our rescue shelter open for the dogs in our permanent care. All of our dogs are rescues from the streets of the Algarve. All have either been abandoned or mistreated.
Since the day our shelter opened nearly 4 years ago we have NEVER asked for, or accepted financial donations. Over the years the shelter has cared for many, many dogs, rescued, assessed, cared for and re homed. In the last 6 months with the impact of C-19 we are no longer able to self fund the shelter due to loss of income. We receive no government funding or support.
Everyday we ensure all of our dogs are fed, watered, receive a good level of exercise, human company, medical care, love, patience, rehabilitation, respect and time. Our absolute priority are our dogs.
Our ultimate aim of course is to find them the very best of homes, but until that day we try as hard as we can to show them happiness and kindness.
The money we are humbly asking for will pay for the following:
Food
Water
Medication
Vets bills - including all dogs are sterilised.
The amount will help us continue to care for dogs such as Bertie and Tigre whose vet bills are currently high due to both being extremely poorly and although on the road to recovery had to both have prolonged stays at the vet and ongoing treatment for heartworm and leishmaniosis.
As soon as we are able to fund the shelter ourselves again, we will!
From the bottom of our hearts and on behalf of our dogs, we thank you for helping us to keep the shelter open, continue to take great care of our dogs and to continue to be able to rescue dogs in need.
