Help Ben Boogie Again

On Tuesday morning, August 7th, Ben went into cardiac arrest at home. After being discovered by his wife, Rosie, CPR was immediately initiated and the paramedics were called. Ben was transferred to the hospital in unstable condition. After running many tests, the cause of this event was unclear. Ben was held in a medically induced coma on a ventilator with no guarantee of waking up and no clear idea of what kind of damage may have been caused. After days of worry and sleepless nights, Ben started to wake up and hope was restored where it had once been lost. With his wife and family at his side Ben has become determined to overcome this and return to life as he knows it. With no clear diagnosis, it is suspected that Ben has a genetic predisposition to cardiac arrhythmias. There were no warning signs and the scariest part is it could happen again. Early CPR saved Ben’s life. The road ahead is a long one, requiring both Ben and Rosie to take time away from work- Ben to focus on his recovery and Rosie to focus on maintaining normalcy for their children and helping Ben to get back to his old self. This go fund me page is being created to help this family out so that they do not have to endure any more stress during an already stressful time. The money raised will help to assist with the medical bills and the day to day expenses for this family of four. It is also important to tell Ben’s story of survival because of the importance of early initiation of CPR. Yes, his wife is a nurse who knew how to perform this life saving procedure, but more importantly starting it early in order to help maintain blood flow to Ben’s vital organs which inevitably saved his life.
