Help Becca Build an Accessible Home
The stars have aligned, and Becca and her family have found a new home of their own! They are incredibly excited to move out of a rental and into a space where they can finally make the customizations needed to support Becca’s care and independence.
As many of you know, Becca is a quadriplegic and uses a ventilator. While she has done an incredible job adapting to life after her injury, with the help of this amazing community, the reality is that the costs of living with a spinal cord injury do not go down over time.
Becca legally cannot work more hours without risking the loss of vital health insurance coverage. This insurance is non-negotiable for her survival. Her parents, who are retired, have poured their savings into purchasing this home and caring for Becca full-time.
Now, they face significant out-of-pocket costs to make this home truly accessible:
• An in-home elevator so Becca can live on the same floor as her parents (she cannot be safely separated onto another level)
• Additional accessibility renovations throughout the home
• Continued expenses for in-home caregivers, specialized equipment, and medical needs
Becca and her family remain beyond grateful for the support they’ve received in the past. That generosity has made an enormous difference. With this new home, they now have the chance to create a space that will better support Becca’s long-term needs and provide a more sustainable quality of life for the whole family.
If you have the means, any contribution will make a real difference. Every donation helps move this project forward and brings Becca closer to a home where she can thrive.
Thank you so much for your continued love and support. (You can also Venmo directly to @avibex.)
