Help Barre VT Family Rebuild After Floods Hurricane Beryl

It is with a heavy and desperate heart that I write this plea on behalf of my daughter, son-in-law, two grand daughters, and two grand kitties.

They live in Barre, VT and are navigating a second round of devastating losses to their home following the catastrophic floods of July (2023 and 2024).

They have worked so hard with little means to recover from the 2023 floods and are finding themselves completely unable to recover this time. They are very humble people who don’t expect much, have lived in a home this last year due to lack of financial resources that many would not to keep their daughters out of a shelter, and would never ask for help despite needing some so desperately.

My daughter works as an LNA 6-7 days a week caring for others to support their household. Her husband has been disabled and unable to work for many years and helps care for their two daughters when not in school at Barre City Elementary school.

They do not receive any federal or state assistance because her income just barely makes them ineligible.

I wish I had organized for them last year as it has been such a hard road for them, emotionally, mentally, financially, and physically.

Any funds donated will be used secure a safe living situation where the girls can have hot water to bathe and clean clothes. Helping them move out of a flood zone will help them begin to heal from the 2023 and 2024 flooding.

Please consider donating to help them recover, replace their belongings, and secure safe housing for their family and my sweet, sweet granddaughters.

All funds transferred directly to my daughter and her husband. Should there be any remaining donated funds that are not needed for their flood recovery, they will be donated to Central Vermont Hurricane Beryl flood recovery.
