Wanted to give you a little update on Banjo and ask you if you could share this campaign so he can get all the help that he needs
Banjo’s Cushing is starting to be controlled but we are not there yet. The next appointment with his blood test and injection for the Cushing test is aug 1st. This appointment as you can see from my previous bills is around $900. Banjo’s monthly meds are running at about $150
Banjo is still a little obsessed with his food and he broke 2 teeth that are starting to hurt him. I thought that his running eyes were due to his paralysis from a couple of months ago but now I feel it might be due to his broken teeth.
He is also starting to get the skin issues that most Cushing dogs get. I will probably need to see a dermatologist. I am shopping around because the cheapest one is $165 for a single visit.

Update January:
It's been a while since I updated. Banjo's cushing is starting to get under control. If the cushing results are good in 3 weeks, I will have to test him 3 more times at $1000 each time. $900 test and $100 meds per month.
last week, he got left side paralisis, his eye does not close, his lip is droopy and has a weird feeling on his tongue. Vet says maybe Bell Passy or internal ear infection (worst case that I refuse to think about, brain tumour) We went home with an eye cream to insure that his eye does not dry up. Last saturday he had a weird episode where all his head was moving from left o right and eyes in opposite direction. I rushed him to the hospital and they said most probably with the paralisis that it is an ear infection so we went home with antibiotics. He had another episode yesterday. Sent the video to the went that they will show to a neurologist. I cannot afford an MRI so we will have to pray for the ear infection.
He is in good spirit, eating and watching alot of TV. I am not giving up on him :)
Update December:
Banjo has the cushing syndrom. We have done the 2nd round of test. The test cost $600 + each time and the meds are about $100 month. I am saying about, because it is delivered from Toronto via Fed-ex and it depends on the dosage. Another follow up test of $600 is set for December 20th Thank you ! I have included all the bills so far to be as transparent as possible
here is how it all started.
Hi ! My name is Banjo. I am a 7 year old Australian Shephard and I am beautiful ( my mom tells me all the time and she does not lie) . I am writing this because my mom is too proud to ask and yet she says I’m the stubborn one HA!
In July I started to feel not too good. My eyes started running, then my nose, I was coughing and drooling a lot. Mom took me to the Dr and they could not figure out what was wrong. 4 days later we went back to the hospital. They took x-ray ( I hate that !! ) They sent me home with antibiotics for 2 weeks because they saw that I had inflammation in my lungs. I had to go back even if my nose stops dripping and I no longer drool because I am still breathing heavy and superfast. More x-rays…… oh the scale….. the scale…. They tell me that I am gaining weight. That is not very nice, I used to walk a lot with mom but now I am not in the mood. Dr sent me home with MORE antibiotics because they are still seeing inflammation in my lungs. I still breath heavy ….. so mom brought me to see a heart specialist just in case. New Doctor, new hospital….. the Dr was super nice and cute and he said that he is sure at 90% that my heart was fine, but I have a bit of fat around my heart. ENOUGH of the fat shaming, I just have a big heart !!
Mom did a follow up meeting with my regular Dr, Oh ya and my tummy is upset with all this meds. They prescribed probiotic ( nice treat yeah!) my Dr, she gave mom options, one of them was to go see a lungs specialist at another hospital. So we went, and Wow the Dr are really nice there but they really have to stop poking my butt… grrrr They said that I should try the cortisone pump for my lungs because mom already spend a lot of money and she can’t afford the $3500 test. They put a weird mask on my face, mom did ok with it. But before we do the pump at home, we have to make sure that I have no infections so we do a full blood and pipi test…… I don’t like needles!!
Results came back that I have high level of enzyme in my liver….. wow! So we got some pills for that and they suggested we do additional blood test. They also gave me meds for worms, just just just in case I have worms in my lungs, because mom spoils me with raw meals all the time. Saturday morning, ma broke down because I had blood in my poo. She never saw blood ever in my poo. But after that it has been fine. We went to the hospital to pay the bill for my new test, I got to sit in the front in the car. No poking, no needles, no test ….. just a fun drive. First time I go there and no poking…. mom is still worried so she stayed with me the whole day and we watch TV.
Monday the additional test results came in and they say, I have too much protein in my pee and my enzymes are VERY high
I met my mom when I was 2, I was in a shelter, she was not working because she had an accident and she was doing a lot of physio. Mom does not have anyone else in her life but me so the money does get tight at times and she did not recover yet from not working for 1 ½ year . But she spoils me, I eat raw food now. I used to throw up all the time when I moved in with her. I don’t throw up anymore since I don’t eat dry food, my hair is nice, we play together all the time, we walk all the time, she takes me swimming. We used to go to the dog park but the people there were not nice to me, they said I was too excited and barked too much. So mom said I need new friends.
She tells me that I saved her. I think she saved ME. So I want to help her so If you can help my mom a little bit, she would really appreciate it. We have to find about $4000 to get better. Winter is coming and I want to go walk with her on the frozen lake, I love the snow!!
Mom told me again that I will make a nice looking old man….. but I am not old….. hummm …. Guess she wants to keep me. YEAH !!

Update Janvier 2018
Le cushing de Banjo commence a être controlé. Si tout va bien, il nous reste 3 tests de $1000 à passer pour le stabiliser. $900 le test et $100 les médicaments.
la semaine passée, j'ai remarqué que le visage de Banjo commençait a être différent et j'ai remarquer qu'il fesait des clin d'oeil. Je l'ai amené chez le vet qui m'a comfirmé une paralysie faciale du côté gauche. Peut-être dû au cushing mais peut être aussi le syndrome de Belle Passy, sinon aussi possibilité d'une infection otite interne que causerait une paralysie du visage. N'ayant pas les $1000 ou plus pour une RMI, Je suis rentrée avec un gel pour les yeux qu'on applique 4 fois par jours. Samedi passé, il a eut un épisode ou sa tête allait rapidement de gauche a droite et les yeux dans le sens contraire. Je suis allée d'urgence consulter craignant un acv. Le vet croit a l'infection donc elle nous a prescrit des antibiotiques. Un vidéo a été transmit au Vet durant une crise et ce vidéo serait transférer à un neurologue en espérant avoir des opinions.
Sinon, Banjo est un garçon heureux, enjoué et surtout fort. Il n'est pas question de l'abandonner.
Decembre 2017
C'est confirmé, Banjo a le syndrome de Cushing. Nous avons déjà fait 2 séries de tests pour déterminer la dose de médicament necessaire. Chaque test coute $600+. En plus, ses médicaments sont environs $100/ mois dépendant de la dose et incluant les frais fed-ex puisque ses capsules sont fait pour la dose exacte. Le prochain test d'évaluation sera le 20 décembre pour ajuster à nouveau sa dose. Merci encore à ceux qui ont aidé et ceux qui aident toujours.

Salut ! Mon nom est Banjo. Je suis un Berger australien de 7 ans et je suis beau (ma mère me dit tout le temps et elle ne ment pas). J'écris ceci parce que ma mère est trop fière pour demander et pourtant elle dit que je suis l'entêté HA!
En juillet, j'ai commencé à ne pas me sentir trop bien. Mes yeux ont commencé à couler, puis mon nez, je toussais et bavais beaucoup. Maman m'a emmené au Dr et ils ne pouvaient pas comprendre ce qui n'allait pas. 4 jours plus tard, nous sommes retournés à l'hôpital. Ils ont pris des radiographies (je déteste ça!) Ils m'ont renvoyé à la maison avec des antibiotiques pendant 2 semaines parce qu'ils ont vu que j'avais une inflammation dans les poumons. Je devais y retourner même si mon nez a arrêté de couler et que je ne bave plus car je respire toujours lourd et ultra-rapide. Encore des rayons X ...... Ils m’ont pesé oh la balance ... .. la balance .... Ils me disent que je gagne du poids. Ce n'est pas très gentil, je marchais beaucoup avec maman mais maintenant je ne suis pas d'humeur. Le Dr m'a renvoyé à la maison avec PLUS d'antibiotiques parce qu'ils voient toujours une inflammation dans mes poumons. Je respire encore lourdement ... .. alors maman m'a amené voir un spécialiste du cœur juste au cas où. Nouveau docteur, nouvel hôpital ... le Dr était super gentil et mignon et il m'a dit qu'il était sûr à 90% que mon cœur allait bien, mais j'ai un peu de graisse autour de mon cœur. ASSEZ de parler des gros, j'ai juste un grand coeur !!
Maman a fait un suivi avec mon Dr, Oh ouais et puis, mon estomac est à l’envers par tous ces médicaments. Ils ont prescrit des probiotiques ( une gâterie ouais!) Mon Dr, elle a donné des options à maman, l'un d'eux était d'aller voir un spécialiste des poumons dans un autre hôpital. Donc nous sommes allés, et Wow les Dr sont vraiment sympa mais elles doivent vraiment arrêter de me mettre des truc ou un doigt dans le ….... grrrr Elles ont dit que je devrais essayer la pompe à cortisone pour mes poumons parce que maman dépense déjà beaucoup d'argent et elle ne peut pas se permettre Test de 3500 $ qui déterminerait quel type d’infection aux poumons je pourrais avoir. Ils ont mis un masque bizarre sur mon visage, maman à bien fait avec, un peu maladroite mais ok. Mais avant de faire la pompe à la maison, nous devons nous assurer que je n'ai pas d'infection alors nous faisons un test de sang et de pipi ...... Je n'aime pas les aiguilles !!
Les résultats sont revenus que j'ai un niveau élevé d'enzymes dans mon foie ... .. wow! Nous avons donc des pilules pour cela et ils nous ont suggéré de faire un test sanguin supplémentaire. Ils m'ont aussi donné des médicaments pour les vers, juste au cas où j'ai des vers dans les poumons, parce que maman me gâte avec des repas crus tout le temps. Samedi matin, ma mère a éclaté en sanglot parce que j'avais du sang dans mon caca.. Mais après ça ça va. Nous sommes allés à l'hôpital pour payer la facture de mon nouveau test, j'ai pû m'asseoir à l'avant dans la voiture. Pas de piqures, pas d'aiguilles, pas de test ... juste une promenade amusante. La première fois que j'y vais et qu’on ne pique pas ... maman est toujours inquiète alors elle est restée avec moi toute la journée et nous regardons la télé.
Lundi, les résultats des tests supplémentaires sont arrivés et ils disent, j'ai trop de protéines dans mon pipi et mes enzymes sont très élevés
J'ai rencontré ma mère quand j'avais 2 ans, j'étais dans un refuge, elle ne travaillait pas parce qu'elle avait un accident et qu'elle faisait beaucoup de kiné. Maman n'a personne d'autre dans sa vie que moi, donc l'argent est serré parfois et elle n'a pas encore récupéré de ne pas avoir travaillé pendant 1 an et demi. Mais elle me gâte, je mange de la nourriture crue maintenant. J'avais l'habitude de vomir tout le temps quand j’ai emménagé avec elle. Je ne vomis plus car je ne mange pas de nourriture sèche, mon poil est beau, nous jouons ensemble tout le temps, nous marchons tout le temps, et je vais même me baigner dans la rivière. Nous avions l'habitude d'aller au parc à chiens mais les gens là n'étaient pas gentils avec moi, ils ont dit que j'étais trop excité et aboyais trop. Alors maman a dit que j'avais besoin de nouveaux amis.
Elle me dit que je l'ai sauvée. Je pense qu'elle M’A sauvé. Donc, je veux l'aider à mon tour. Si vous pouvez aider ma mère un peu, elle l'apprécierait vraiment. Nous devons trouver environ 4000 $ pour aller mieux. L'hiver arrive et je veux aller marcher avec elle sur le lac gelé, j'adore la neige !!
Maman m'a encore dit que je ferais un beau p’tit vieux ... mais je ne suis pas vieux ... hummm ... Je suppose qu'elle veut me garder. OUAIS !!

Le Dr a dit qu'il se pourrait que j’ai le syndrome de Cushing Après avoir dépensé près de 3000 $ sur les factures de vétérinaire, j'ai encore besoin de faire un écho de son estomac pour voir s'il y a une tumeur, 400 $ + médicaments pour l'hypertension artérielle pendant 4 semaines, les rayons X de ses poumons 280 $, et tous les médicaments. Puisque beaucoup d'entre vous ont déjà offert leur aide, tout serait grandement apprécié, Banjo mérite le meilleur. Je vous remercie ! J'ai inclus toutes les factures jusqu'à présent et une estimation pour que l'écho afin d’être aussi transparent que possible
