Our senior fur baby, Ball O’Fur, has suddenly gotten very sick. We headed to the vet expecting the very worst. Fortunately, the doctors have determined that the situation is treatable and has a great chance of positive long-term outcomes. Unfortunately, it requires 1-3 days of intensive hospitalization that could cost up to $4,000.
This unexpected expense has hit us at a very bad time. As some of you may know, our roof and basement were both terribly damaged in the Indiana tornados ands storms earlier this spring and much of our “expendable” income is currently tied up in repairs (insurance required is to front the majority of the roof repair costs and won’t reimburse until the work is finished). I also just bought my grad school books and paid some school-related fees over the weekend, which are not at all cheap.
We’ve maxed out our available credit to cover the tests and treatment he’s received so far as well as pay for today’s intensive hospitalization; however, we are worried about covering the costs of care if additional days are needed, and the doctor seems convinced that they will be.
So, we are asking for support from our community to help us treat our baby and get him back to health. Please help if you are able and we will find a way to pay you back!
