Help Balder the Dog

Donación protegida
The night before Christmas Eve we heard whimpering and cries outside our front door, only to find a young man named Jim holding his bleeding dog Balder in his arms in shock. Balder had just been struck by a car speeding across Downer Avenue and was whimpering in pain.

Jim didn’t know what to do or where to go. All the vets nearby were closed and Jim has no car.

I hopped in my car and got Jim and Balder to the nearest 24hr animal hospital and we waited to hear from the vet...

Balder has a fracture in his face that is separating his palate from his jaw and the blood coming through his nostrils makes it hard for him to breathe. He has a limp in his front paw and may have sustained a fractured leg and possibly broken ribs as well.

Balder is on pain medication now but he will need surgery to repair the bones in his face very soon. Just resting on his side is uncomfortable as Balder can’t breathe without straining.

Jim works hard at a part time job but paying rent and other bills is all he can afford. Now his best friend Balder needs surgery and the doctors say it may cost over $5000 to get him the help he needs to live and not be in pain.

Jim was someone I never met before tonight but I saw his innocent and gentle dog Balder and I got in my car and helped him get to the vet.

Will you please help Balder out to get the surgery he needs? Every little bit helps.
Without this necessary surgery, things will not go well for this sweet gentle dog. Please open your hearts this holiday and give a little bit to help Balder.

Thank you.
