My name is Xiomara and I have IS.
Infantile Spasms (also known as West Syndrome) is a rare Epileptic disorder that usually begins between birth and 2 years of age. The difference between this and other types of Epileptic disorders is that each seizure can cause permanent brain damage. IS often leads to Lennox-Gastaut disorder, Autism, and other development delays.
What is West Syndrome?
Xiomara had her first seizure at 8 months old. Since then, her progress has been slow and she is still unable to sit, stand, or walk unassisted.
But maybe, with the help of friends, family, and others, Xiomara can have a brighter future. Please help if you can, but if not, please share and say a prayer for my beautiful girl, that she may live a healthy and meaningful life.
