<div>His parents, Mohammed and Nour, had waited so long for this moment. Mohammed worked as a cashier and Nour was a skilled translator. They were overjoyed to welcome their first baby and had dreamed of a peaceful home and bright future for their son.

<div>But their dreams were stolen before they ever had the chance to begin.

<div>Just days after Tariq’s birth, bombs began to fall. Their neighborhood was destroyed. Their lives were thrown into chaos. And they’ve been running ever since.

<div><strong>Little Tariq is now almost 2 years old and already fighting illness and malnutrition. </strong>He has spent nearly his entire life under bombardment, without steady access to baby milk or even clean water to drink.

<div><strong><em>We hear from Mohammed only when the rare internet signal reaches him. His words are filled with pain and desperation. His child is sick. Nour is weakened from hunger and exhaustion. They have no shelter of their own. They are doing everything they can to keep Tariq alive — but they can’t do it alone.</em></strong>
