Help Mateo with Congenital heart disease treatment
For the past twelve months baby Mateo has been in and out of the hospital treating his Epilepsy due to his condition called “ Ring Chromosome 14 Syndrome” which involves sporadic seizures and epileptic shocks due to not having chromosome 14 in his body.
Every seizure Mateo gets which are typically 3 to 5 a day Mateo looses consciousness, making it difficult to regain his feeds, Mateo has a GTUBE that allows for feedings but seizures play a difficulty in keeping any fluids down reducing his growth. Mateo is progressively fighting by staying alive and doesn’t give in, it breaks me to see such a young baby give it his all and Mateo gives me the strength to continue to battle any and all disabilities ahead. Today we found that Mateo has Congenital Heart Disease and will need surgical treatment, another hurdle to jump. Mateo is a fighter and I’m not giving up for him and his siblings, in lieu of his syndrome Mateo’s left part of his brain has overgrown his right side making an even bigger delay in his growth and maneuverability.
We are seeking all of your help as Mateo will be going through Fetoscopic Spina Bífida surgery in hopes to end his seizures in addition to heart surgery This surgical procedure will be performed in the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston where we found the only place to help with children with Ring Chromosome 14 syndrome. In lieu of not having enough coverage by insurance and lack of resources in the state of AZ we have to travel to Houston and get these procedures done. It may take more than one surgery to get thru this but we will do what ever it takes to get baby Mateo to a more “normal” life
