Help Baby Liam and Family

Donation protected
Baby Liam is only 4 months old. He has had a hard life so far. Liam has been hospitalized 3 times and underwent a C section delivery. In the US that's normal but in the Philippines it can be dangerous . the doctor was quoted to say  "its your life or the baby" he was born abnormally large for a child in that region almost 11 lbs with the average being around 7 lbs. to make the long story short. He was going to a specialist for an on-going cough and in route he stopped breathing after a sever coughing attack They rushed him to the nearest hospital which was a private hospital the worse thing to do by the way if your poor The staff at a private in comparison to public is suppose to be better but that's debatable,, But what really sets them apart is the cost of services the billing is horrendous. Charging 500% more than what a public hospital would charge for the same service. If given the choice she would have gone to the public but since this was a decision of life and death she chose admittance at this private hospital.  the currant state of affairs: Liam's mom has battled the  hospital to allow Liam to be removed from ICU as soon as he is a strong enough to support himself without all the machines they had him hooked up to.  She has had to battle for the right to buy the medicin that Liam needs outside the hosptial pharmacy to prevent the 500% markup . She has tried to get Liam transferred to a public hospital but they would not release Liam unless the accounting was settled. She is a strong capable woman with little to no means of support. With that being said she was forced to stay in a private room which was the only thing available and they are adding fees upon fees daily until release. She has made numerous trips to the capital to get govt help. Unfortunately they are offering a smidgen of what the bill totals. Leah, Liam's mom says its still a blessing however small it is. Her positive attitude is inspiring.  Baby Liam is in better health now but still has  Asthma attacks here and there but is unable to leave .. they are preventing  Liam's discharge currently ( I don't know when it will change and how it will change) with no opportunity to do a promissory note or monthly billing the only option is to put a land deed up for collateral and have a co-signer added to promissory note. 95% of the population cannot afford land due to cost. 79% barely make 25 dollars a day and for a 3 night stay in ICU and 7 day stay in private room the cost is almost 5 thousand dollars.  There is a large disparity in services and what someone can pay in the Philippines. It's not the hospitals fault its just a sad state of affairs in the Philippines. There not fully modernized and there system is far from being perfect.  Even with laws preventing practices like this its hard for it to be enforced. There options for repayment is non existent.. It's a vicious cycle of  poor. My goal is to get Baby Liam home where he belongs. He belongs back with his family. If I were able I would pay it all. but unfortunately  I have already depleted my savings but I  am willing to give more if they would only allow a payment plan. Her family is like any normal family living in a Barangay their household is generational meaning you will find 2 o 3 generations living under the same roof. Meager shelters which floods seasonal not the best diet and sharing what they can with others. It's a hard life but they don't complain they just go about and make the best of what life has to offer. I am so amazed at the resiliency of the Filipino people. My heart reaches out to them. Even if you gather the support of an entire clan they would not be able to come up with 250 thousand pesos. It's quite impossible to generate that over such a short period of time for any one who has meager wages and the plain simple cost of living. If you find it in your heart to help Liam. God will bless you in many ways for the kindness in your heart. Please support Baby Liam. He has a long road of dealing with hospitals and medication. We in the west really do not feel the crunch of everyday Health services. In  third world countries like the Philippines where you have to pay out of pocket for simple medications they feel it in there daily  struggles.   Thank you, if your interested in more information on this issues I provided links to articles and forums that you might reference. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110526195102AAWYalK&guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYmluZy5jb20vc2VhcmNoP3E9Y2FudCtwYXkraG9zcGl0YWwrYmlsbCtpbit0aGUrcGhpbGlwcGluZXMmZm9ybT1FREdUQ1QmcXM9TldGJmN2aWQ9MTRhNjUwODViNzM2NDkyYWI0MWJiNTQ1YmViMzE3ZWMmcmVmaWc9MWY3ZDllOGE3NTNmNDA4M2E2ODdkZTEzZDdjMzFlZWYmY2M9VVMmc2V0bGFuZz1lbi1VUw&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAD6ua0NxcjCRvrhc1Q5KUNNiHrh14IeyklPWYQHJVKZGbxyyX1fQEkbE2e54rxTcWmIsNbsUNqUraeQ0Og8Z9aKPBdYNgZrJU9dI6FEceWt72w-6o02aKxK237GQZO1_q3d5BUIMFSJDIb7LFuU0eFyRQ9_Lnhn-oXAwaWKCHfPw https://www.manilatimes.net/2016/07/31/legal-advice/dearpao/patient-who-cant-pay-hospital-bills-can-execute-promissory-note/277109/277109/ https://www.manilatimes.net/2015/07/30/legal-advice/dearpao/hospitals-not-allowed-to-detain-patients/204980/204980/ information on the law does not cover private room hospital stay they are excluded from this protection. Why that is I don't know. Law and common practice and the cost of policing the policy is very difficult for any country that's why this practice is seen every where  in the Philippines.  you can see Liams face book page along with the mothers and myself https://www.facebook.com/alladin.delapa.35 https://www.facebook.com/leahmae.prad
