<div>Well, here I am again in need of help. I've tested positive for COVID, and as I have no insurance, the pills I need are $1,000.

<div>So I'm once again asking for help to pay for the medicine I need to get better.

<div>My wife and I have secured housing and are safely in an apartment. Thank you so much to everyone who donated during our time of uncertainty.

<div>However, I've been informed by my landlord that next year will bring new rent increases. So I'm shifting the goal of this fundraiser from finding housing to helping me maintain it through the holiday season and into next year. <strong> </strong>

<div>Well, folks, life decided to take a big old rain on my parade, and now I'm effectively homeless as a result. My wife and I put everything into storage, ended our apartment lease, and had a friend drive us to Montréal, where we had lodging waiting for us.

</div>
<div>I was ready to claim my study permit and begin a new life in Quebec. And then, surprise surprise, we were rejected at the border for what seemed to be rather subjective reasons.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Following the advice of my university, I arrived a month early to search for housing. I was told by a border agent that they couldn't issue my study permit now as I'd arrived too early. And I couldn't enter as a visitor and wait for my study permit.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The news was even worse for my wife, whom the university assured me could remain as a visitor while I went to school. She couldn't remain for more than 6 months.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We were also informed that I didn't have enough money saved, though the border agent refused to tell me exactly how much I needed. We were turned away and told to come back later. But even if we did, my wife couldn't stay for long.
</div>

</div>
<div>So now we're effectively homeless and trying to find housing back in Portland, Maine. My studies have been deferred indefinitely because of this situation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And I'm once again asking for assistance as we try to find an apartment with short notice. I apologize to everyone for the trouble this has caused. I didn't really know terror until I arrived at a border with my life in tow and was told to turn around.
</div>
