For hours, her husband, John, her friends, and event organizers could not contact or locate Lyndsey. They searched desperately until John finally received a call from a hospital that evening.

Lyndsey had been T-boned on her driver's side at highway speed. She was airlifted by helicopter, having suffered a brain bleed, a broken jaw, broken ankle, and multiple other injuries. She was intubated and sedated, arriving at the hospital in critical condition.

Lyndsey's newest book, KARABOS, is also being published on October 13. The terrible timing of the accident may prevent her from doing work needed to support its launch, affecting the family's income.
