Help Aubrey get needed surgery
A few weeks ago we were contacted by some people working at a construction site in Harlem - they were feeding a mama and two kittens and could we help them? We rescued Aubrey and her sister Aurora and discovered both are very sweet girls!
Sadly it became clear that while Aubrey is otherwise healthy, she had a severe problem using her front left leg. Our wonderful vet examined her, and it was clear that Aubrey would never be able to recover use of the leg. She has an old injury which resulted in both a fracture and severe nerve damage - she has no sensation in the leg and can't use it to walk. Our vet recommended amputation, otherwise the leg will develop wounds and infections.
The kind people at Humane Society of New York have stepped up and offered to do Aubrey's surgery at a reduced cost. After that she will need physical rehabilitation while she learns to live her life as a "tripod" kitty. She'll be someone's loving pet someday when she's fully recovered.
Can you please donate to help sweet Aubrey begin her new life?
