<div>My name is Auberon, but most of you probably know me better as Alluvial. I am a queer trans artist and Twitch affiliate, and I’m also disabled—like, VERY disabled. Unfortunately, the Social Security Administration has determined that is no longer the case.

<div>I was diagnosed a bit over a decade ago with Bipolar Disorder, adding to a diagnosis of PTSD. I was hospitalized five times and was able to get on SSDI and obtain Medicare after a year-long process that involved one appeal on my application.

<div>In the past six years, I’ve also been diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases: Celiac Disease, and about three years ago, Sjogren’s Syndrome. Celiac means I had to cut gluten out of my diet, which was manageable, but SS is a systemic rheumatoid disease that affects many parts of my body.

<div>In addition to not making enough tears or saliva (which led to me losing most of my teeth), I have also developed a vocal cord disorder that is triggered by my dry throat. It causes my vocal cords to close when they should be open, choking me when I’m trying to breathe. This happens mostly at night and can keep me up all night and make napping the following day impossible. This happens 1-3 nights per week. There is no cure, and no real treatment because my cause is autoimmune.

<div>On top of that, I sometimes have full body nerve pain flares. They are less frequent thanks to the immunomodulatory medication that I take, but they’re not totally gone. I am facing the possibility of losing access to my rheumatologist and the medications that help with these flares and my dry mouth with the loss of Medicare.

<div>Because that’s not enough, my Bipolar Disorder and PTSD have still not gone away. Bipolar is a lifelong diagnosis, and while I haven’t been hospitalized since 2017, I have spent the majority of the last few years deeply depressed, to the point where I even hated art at times.

<div>And because THAT is also not enough, I have a benign brain tumor, optic neuritis, and possibly intracranial hypertension, one or more of which might be contributing to double vision we’ve been struggling to diagnose the cause of since 2023.
</div>

<div>All of that is to say, I will be appealing this decision once I'm able to connect with legal representation. Unfortunately, I won’t be receiving benefits during my appeal, and my last check will be on June 3, 2026. At that time, I will also lose access to Medicare.
</div>

<div>I’m doing this GoFundMe to help build up a nest egg, and also to pay off the credit accounts that I have open in order to reduce the monthly payments I will have to come up with moving forward.

<div>Overall, I am hoping to raise about $7,000. I don’t expect to get that full amount, but that’s the ideal goal. During the course of this fundraiser, I will also be working as hard as my body will allow to build up my savings in addition to asking for your kind contributions.
