<div>Astrid was born with a perimembranous VSD that sent her into the beginning stages of heart failure at just a few months old, which she quickly bounced back from, but..

<div>It left her left atrium enlarged, risking damage to her lungs, among other things. We've remained hopeful that the hole would close and her heart would return to its normal size, but unfortunately it never recovered.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At just shy of turning 2, <strong>she is scheduled for open-heart surgery on December 9th. </strong>❤️‍ She will go in for pre op on December 6th.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We've set a $3,000 goal to ensure we're prepared for any out-of-pocket expenses, including our catastrophic cap from our insurance($3,000) which will then reset January 1st, so any care provided after the 1st of the year, will go towards a new cap of another $3,000. (A potential out of pocket cost of up to $6k, yes we will also look into payment plans if need be)

<div>In the event we are unable to get into the Ronald McDonald house, we will also choose to stay in a hotel for the duration of her hospital stay, so mommy and the other 2 kiddos, don’t have to drive 1.5 hours each way. All of which the funds will be used towards!
