Help Aspiring Software Engineer

Donation protected
In November of 2016 my social justice work with Black Lives Matter Alliance Broward led me to develop an interest in software development. I wanted to become a mission-oriented software engineer who can build apps for social justice organizations.

I began learning how to code through online tutorials and 7 months later I quit my job as an 8th grade history teacher, left my organization, and moved to the Bay Area to attend a coding bootcamp. Making such a transition is very costly as I had to take out loans for my tuition as well as for the cost of living--but my loans were not going to be enough to cover everything. Fortunately I received a scholarship that covered 50% of my tuition but surviving in the Bay Area has proven to be very challenging.

I am looking to raise funds to help support me while I study, work on projects, and interview with companies. These funds will help to cover the cost of food, transportation, student loan payments, and other essential needs (toiletries, etc) for another few weeks (maybe months) until I get my next position.

Any donation of any size is greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who shares this post, donates money, or sends positive energy my way! =D

PS: if you'd like to learn more about my journey into tech checkout my medium posts  here and an article about my decision here.
