Hi friends and family, first of all, thank you for taking the time to meet me here and read about my growing teaching business. I am excited about what I am building and have come to you to ask for your help to bring my French teaching craft to life BEFORE July 31.

Consider this page as part “Gofundme” and part “Crowdfunding” because this is me showing up in life, as well as in business, as the Powerhouse CEO that I am, and that my friends and family know me to be. I need your support in this leap to raise $2,000 by July 31 to build and a powerful and meaningful French as a Foreign Language Summer 2024 Program for expats in France that I am oh so ready to teach! I am also asking for and offering an exchange of contribution. I would love for you to actively partake and be included in this process!

Help me create my French teaching business with small contribution of 50$ or more and I will be over the moon to give you a private French lesson, help with planning a vacation to France, a video call where I show you around my Parisian neighborhood, give you a live French cooking lesson, invite you to Zoom calls where I give free lectures and trial classes… ou plus ! This is support that goes full circle because that’s what life is all about!

But before I can get there, there are many personal hurdles and I will be out of time on July 31 and need to raise 2,000 dollars…

I stand at a crossroads: one path leads to more turmoil, which I can avoid with your help, and the other to a thriving business that fulfills me and allows me to build a future where I can visit you, my friends and family across the Atlantic. I want to remind you of my absolute ability in the field of teaching and building invincibility in others, and again why now is the time that I need your help to get me there.

Since I began teaching French in 2009, I've explored numerous methods and created my own, earning me the Best Foreign Language Teacher of Maryland award in 2013. Seeking to expand, I moved to France in 2016, where I now teach English and spent two years volunteering as a French teacher for immigrants. After nearly 15 years of teaching, I launched my own English language teaching business last summer, boy, has it taken off! In less than four months, I secured several clients, including prestigious schools like Esmod Fashion Business Paris and l’Institut Supérieur de l’Environnement, who have offered me even bigger contracts for the fall. However, with summer here and no income due to France's long vacations, this is why right now is the time for me to officially launch my French as a Foreign Language program for Americans and anglophones in France. I need your financial help to do it.

Also, those who have seen me teach also know that I love using technology to up my game and make learning magical. My iPad stopped working and now I feel like Harry Potter without his wand. My iPad is a staple throughout class, as well as in the lesson planning stages, as a second screen, for notetaking, grading and pedagogical games, as well as for its interactive whiteboard feature for both in person classes and virtual. Professionally speaking, I am now struggling to maintain my high-tiered, fast paced, impactful content that my students and clients expect from me. As I am currently unable to deliver my crafted lessons with the same care and attention to detail, I find myself also deeply saddened, on a personal level, because teaching is my dream career and now I feel less able to reach for the stars.

This dream of creating my own teaching business is what kept me going when I had visa renewal problems for 3 years due to Covid administrative backlogs, preventing me not only from working in France, but also from traveling back home to the US to visit my aging mother, who passed away in 2021.

I faced not being able to return to France when I got on that plane to be with my dying mom because I was still without a valid visa even after 3 years of lawyers and taking it to court. I got one day with her before she passed away. As I held her hand, I promised her that I will launch my French teaching dream program and it will be a hit. I am proud of have achieved the first part of my promise, and need your help now with the second promise.

This teaching dream is what kept me going while mourning my mom and the final years of her life that I didn’t get to spend with her. This dream is what motivated me to come back to France and risk being turned away at customs. When I finally got my papers in 2023, this teaching dream is what motivated me start my own business. And this dream is still what motivates me when I look at my bank account and work even harder to make up for three lost years of my life.

I am a fighter, and you know that I am a fighter, and your help will make me even stronger and more targeted in my approach, allowing me to overcome the blocks that came with the hardships of the past three years that are still holding me back financially today. I am calling in a new chapter, with you.
