Help Arturo Thrive

Donation protected
On the afternoon of November 22nd Arturo fell off a ladder and landed flat on his back, thankfully two of his friends were near by when they heard a thud and rushed over. Arturo is a tough and a 'downplay the situation' kind of guy so he told his friends that he would be alright after he'd catch his breath. Fortunately his friends felt that something wasn't right and decided to go to the nearest hospital. The quick decision would prove to be a life saving choice as Arturo and his friends were in a rural part of Idaho. As they rushed to the hospital, Arturo would find himself in sever pain and slowly going unconscious. He was initially driven to a Spokane Valley hospital where the severity of his injuries would only slightly be revelead to his friends. The hospital promptly rushed him to Deaconess Multi-Care in Spokane. That is where Arturo would find himself in emergency brain surgery and where us, his family and friends, would finally find out the extent of his injuries.
Arturo ended up suffering a cracked skull, two brain hemorrhages and 5 compression fractures in his back. A nurse initially told us because of the severity of the injuries to his brain that he would not make it through surgery but assured us they had the best doctors in the area doing all they could. After what seemed like an eternity, the neurosurgeon approached us with great news stating that they were able to stabilize the bleeding to a point where his brain could manage it. We had consistently been told that Arturo is very lucky to be alive and were are extremely grateful for the doctors and staff that made it possible for him to be with us for years to come. We were further presented with good news that his back injuries would not require surgery and would be able to be managed by wearing a back brace. With all that being said, it is now Christmas day and he finally came home today after spending a month in the hospital. He spent about a week in ICU and due to the trauma, spent the rest of the time in general care where he had been receiving daily therapy and conditioning as part of a routine to bring him back home.

We are asking for your help to cover the cost of surgery, rehabilitation and care as Arturo transitions into a new, different season of life. He has many more hurdles to cross but we are expectant of a full recovery. We would be exceptionally grateful for any help you would be able to provide.

About Arturo,
He is a loving and hardworking person who loves to tease his friends and family. When he's not out working you'd usually find him watching sports, working on his car, fixing something around the house or cracking a joke. Prior to the injury he's been helping his father in-law build a shed in his spare time. He comes from a difficult background but he's made the best of it. He has always been a provider for our family and he's been a role model for many of us. The amount he has sacrificed in order to give his kids a good life has been inspiring to say the least.
