<div>Our dear friend <strong>Carol Kaufman</strong> moved to Altadena four months ago to a new rental apartment with an art studio below to live and continue her life's work as a painter. Sadly, on Tuesday night, with almost no notice, <strong>she fled her apartment as the Eaton fire came racing down her street.</strong> She left with her dog Willow, some clothes, and little else. The inferno of a fire destroyed her entire apartment and everything in it, including decades of her work and all of her art supplies.

<div>She and Willow are grateful to be safe and sheltering in downtown LA with friends but will need to begin the arduous and costly process of restarting their lives.

<div>As a working artist, Carol's livelihood is entirely dependent upon her artwork. She will continue to work and create, but this will take time and resources.
