Help Ariel Mierendorf in her battle with cancer

Thank you for being here for Ariel and her 1.5yr old son Bodhi. Ariel is in the fight of her life against an aggressive cancer that originated in her appendix and has spread throughout her abdomen. Weeks ago she had some GI discomfort that progressively worsened. She saw her OBGYN who palpated a mass and scheduled an ultrasound. Within a matter of days after the ultrasound, there was a CT scan, blood work, an OBGYN Oncology consult, a trip to the closest ED and surgery to remove a grapefruit sized tumor that was encapsulating her ovaries. She went into the surgery and told the surgeon, "do whatever you have to do to give me the longest life possible." They took out the tumor, her ovaries, tubes and uterus, two lymph nodes, appendix and took tissue samples from her colon, bowels, peritoneum, omentum, and lymph nodes. Results show cancer in all these areas. She is home now recovering from the surgery, healing up, and preparing for what lies ahead including chemo and the possibility of more surgery.

This particular cancer is extremely rare. Specialists and treatments are sparse and difficult to find. She is currently working with a Naturopathic MD and her OBGYN Oncologist. She will likely be referred to a specialist and we have reached out to several ahead of time in San Diego and Omaha to get things rolling.

Ariel's whole world is her son Bodhi. He is a sweet, gentle and smart little guy who loves his Mama. Everything Ariel does is for him. She had been working 3 jobs, raising him as a single mother, finishing classes to apply for nursing school and saving money. Her entire focus is to beat this cancer so she can be here for him.

Ariel is an extremely motivated person when she puts her mind towards anything. She was a State Champion in both Cross Country and Track at Flagstaff High School. She finished her Bachelors degree in 4 years while working, at Fort Lewis College in Durango and spent her last semester studying in Ghana Africa. She followed in her mothers footsteps with her love of working out, eating healthy and competing by becoming a professional body builder. She won several competitions including a show at the national level, and has been training others in fitness and nutrition to meet their health goals.

The money raised here will go 100% to support Ariel in this fight with travel, consultations, specialists and numerous different treatment modalities. Ariel has a strong faith in God and the love, support, prayers, meals and offers to help out have been phenomenal and greatly appreciated.
