<div>World Down Syndrome Day is 3/21 (because people with Down syndrome (Ds) have 3 copies of the 21st chromosome), and this year our family wants to celebrate by giving toys and books to preschools to help kids learn about Ds. People have a tendency to be scared of things we don't understand, but these kits help students and teachers learn together. Plus, they allow kids with Ds to play with dolls that look like them! This fundraiser was inspired by a similar project led by a St. Louis mom, Paige Carlson--we appreciate the example she set! We were also moved after observing our daughter's joy this Christmas as she played with a beautiful doll that looks like her.  We hope this fundraiser reminds people that we're more alike than different and beautiful things can come from our differences.

<div>For ~$700 (~$140/preschool), we can purchase supplies for 5 schools (2 dolls, 2 outfits, and 2 books each). We want there to be diversity in our contributions, so we'll buy different races and genders for each school. We'll collect donations throughout February and order supplies in early March, so we can distribute everything around World Down Syndrome Day, March 21st. If we exceed our goal, we'll buy more supplies and donate to more schools! Even if you're unable to give, please consider sharing our fundraiser with others.
